I had my first one-on-one training session with Adam on Saturday, and by the time I went to the range on Monday, I could already see a significant improvement. I still have plenty to learn, but after just one session I feel much more comfortable handling and shooting my firearm. The adjustments Adam made to my grip made a tremendous difference, especially in helping me manage recoil more effectively and tighter groups. Adam is patient, knowledgeable, and explains techniques in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. I’m looking forward to continuing my training with him and feel much more confident that I’ll keep improving and be ready to pass my firearms qualification next month. Thank you again, Adam! Simply put with an automatic firearm when the trigger is pulled once all of the available cartridges will be discharged until the gun is out of cartridges or the trigger is released.

With semi-automatic the only automatic function of the gun is ejecting the spent cartridge from the chamber (part of the barrel that holds the cartridge), ejecting it from the gun and moving a new cartridge into the chamber to be shot. With a semi-automatic the trigger must be pressed each time you wish to shoot.

This is entirely a myth. There is no loophole to get around the federally mandated background checks before you purchase a gun from a gun show or gun shop. Even individuals who have their concealed carry permit must get a background check to purchase a new firearm in the state of Florida. To try and get around this in a gun shop or at a gun show is a felony and heavily enforced.

Yes in the state of Florida you can sell your firearms privately. However, if you knowingly sell a firearm to an individual who is not legally allowed to have one you will have committed a felony and are liable to heavy legal ramifications including federal prison sentences. If you are in question of who you can and cannot sell a firearm too, please contact an attorney.

You can train as often or as seldom as you want- but you will only ever be as proficient with your firearm as you train. If ammunition costs are a concern (ammunition is not cheap) there are various systems for dry fire training (using a laser system with your firearm with out using live ammunition) that you can use at home to hone your fundamentals in firearms use. I suggest that you still go to the range to train with live ammunition, this will allow you to get used to things like recoil, reloading and potential issues that may come up in the course of using a firearm.

Yes, I start working with kids around 8 years old. This is subject to my discretion though, there needs to be a certain level of maturity there with the kids before I start working with them on firearms safety. If your kids do not have the ability to sit through the class I will not accept them for training- it would be a waste of your time and money for them to not get anything out of the safety classes with me.

Honestly, I do not know. Every gun owner has his/her own preferences and opinions on what is the “best gun” to carry and a lot of people believe that their opinion is the only right one. When I start talking to someone about purchasing a firearm for the first time I encourage them to research different brands, go to gun shops and feel and handle different firearms to find one that is comfortable in their hand and above all else find a way to shoot different firearms either by renting or going to the range with friends that have various different guns to find what works best for them. I am willing to go to the gun shop with my students and show them different guns, based on the needs they have for purchasing a gun.
